A/N: The conclusion of my response to prompt #13, “Jack/James, a detective story.” The setting is post-COTBP and pre-hurricane; Norrington still has his commission but remains locked in the downward arc of his fall, and his pursuit of the Black Pearl. Jack, of course, has remained elusive. This is in part an homage to Agatha Christie, and to her wonderful characters, the dapper Mr. Satterthwaite and the mysterious Mr. Quin. The mystery outlined here owes a great deal to her tale, At The Bells And Motley.

Feeling that a change of scenery and a visit "home" will help assuage her grief, Jack takes Elizabeth on a voyage to England. They have become lovers, but the road is still new and not always smooth...
